Royal Mail's Team GB Olympic Gold winners stamps

Here's one of the better Olympic merchandise designs that we love at Liv Design! To celebrate Team GB's success in the London 2012 Olympics, Royal Mail have pledged to design a stamp for each of our Gold medal winners. They will also paint one of their postboxes gold in the winner's home town. We're not sure if Royal Mail anticipated the success of our Team GB but it means that there's a lot of stamps to produce so far. It's going to be good for Royal Mail's profits though with collectors splashing out for a complete set. So far, they've designed 16 stamps for the following Team GB Olympic gold medal winners:
  • Andy Murray - gold in the Men’s Singles Tennis
  • Ben Ainslie - gold in the Sailing: Finn – Men’s Heavyweight Dinghy
  • Mo Farah - gold in the Athletics Men’s 10,000m
  • Greg Rutherford - gold in the Men’s Long Jump
  • Jessica Ennis - gold in the Woman’s Heptathlon
  • Dani King, Joanna Rowsell and Laura Trott - gold in the Women’s Cycling Team Pursuit
  • Katherine Copeland and Sophie Hosking - gold in the Women’s Rowing Lightweight Double Sculls
  • Alex Gregory, Pete Reed, Tom James and Andrew Triggs Hodge - gold in the Rowing Men’s Four
  • Victoria Pendleton - gold in the Women's Cycling Keirin final
  • Ed Clancy, Geraint Thomas, Peter Kennaugh and Steven Burke - gold in the Men’s Cycling Team Pursuit
  • Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins - gold in the Women’s Rowing Double Sculls
  • Sir Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes - gold in the Men’s Cycling Team Sprint
  • Peter Wilson - gold in the Men’s Shooting Double Trap
  • Etienne Stott and Tim Baillie - gold in the Men’s Canoe Double (C2)
  • Bradley Wiggins - gold in the Men’s Cycling Individual
  • Helen Glover and Heather Stanning - gold in the Women’s Pairs Rowing


The stamps are to be released the morning following the athlete's win (even on a Sunday!) to be on sale by lunchtime the same day. They are available in miniature sheets or first day editions and available from one of 500 Post Offices.

The new horror novel 'Forest of Amber' by Scott Johnson

The latest novel from Scott Johnson is out now, just in time for Christmas! Forest of Amber is Scott's fourth book. What's the new novel about? 'It's a horror novel that's grounded in folklore. It's a dark psychological chiller. A couple are trying to save their relationship by going on a camping break. Things don't turn out as they'd hoped. It's an examination of human traits; the two main characters have characteristics and faults that we all have, they're troubled, they're angry, they're surviving day-to-day. It also suggests that there's no such thing as wholly good and bad, we're all a mix of good and evil. It's all a matter of perspective. One of the underlying themes that runs though the story is religion and sin. What is it? What do we do with it? Lenovo's new racy Ducati laptop
