Stamp of approval for great Design

The Royal Mail focuses again on the design industry, this time focusing on the world’s most iconic British design work of the 20th Century. The stamps were 'carefully seleced' by a panel of experts from the world of design.

There are 10 special stamps: the spitfire, mini skirt, mini car, anglepoise lamp, concorde, phone box, Robin Day polyprop chair, Penguin paperback, London Underground map and the Routemaster. Looking at the ones that didn't make the final cut, it makes you proud to be involved in the UK design industry – the harrier,


Britain is still a formidable force in the design industry, especially when you consider how small we are compared to the size and might of other countries. Britain still manages to create design classics today in just about every industry, from fashion to food, advertising to automotive, textiles to telecoms.

The new horror novel 'Forest of Amber' by Scott Johnson

The latest novel from Scott Johnson is out now, just in time for Christmas! Forest of Amber is Scott's fourth book. What's the new novel about? 'It's a horror novel that's grounded in folklore. It's a dark psychological chiller. A couple are trying to save their relationship by going on a camping break. Things don't turn out as they'd hoped. It's an examination of human traits; the two main characters have characteristics and faults that we all have, they're troubled, they're angry, they're surviving day-to-day. It also suggests that there's no such thing as wholly good and bad, we're all a mix of good and evil. It's all a matter of perspective. One of the underlying themes that runs though the story is religion and sin. What is it? What do we do with it? Lenovo's new racy Ducati laptop
